9:15-10:00 AM Tot Yom Kippur Service
The whole family is invited to join us for songs and stories about saying “I’m sorry,” along with Jonah and the Whale and a giant parachute!
This service is designed for preschoolers and their families, but babies and older children are welcome too. This service is in-person only.
10:00 AM-5:00 PM Harmony Yom Kippur Camp
For children ages 18 months-7 years.
How do we make things better when things go wrong?
We’ll explore that question through storytelling, art, and dramatic play. We’ll provide snacks, and families should send lunch. Just like summer camp, children will spend at least part of the day in different groups.
Camp runs from 10:00-5:00, so you can choose the services and programming you’d like to attend while your child has their own Yom Kippur experience at Harmony.
1:45 PM Family Service
Spend Yom Kippur together with your kids. This abbreviated service includes highlights from the liturgy, lots of participation from our children and teens, and a story instead of a sermon.
This service is designed for children ages 5-12 and their families, though everyone is welcome.
2:15 PM Adult Study
If you’re looking for something to do while your child is at Harmony Camp, Anthony Haller will lead an adult study in the Library on Loss and Remembrance from 2:15-3:30 PM.
3:45 PM Yizkor / Memorial Service
A time for prayer, music, and quiet reflection and remembrance.
5:00 PM Afternoon Service
Join us for the afternoon service, including Jonah and the Whale.
6:15 PM Ne’ilah
The final service of Yom Kippur, as the gates begin to close. We’ll have one last opportunity for prayer in front of the open ark and hear the final shofar blast before Havdalah.
7:00 PM Break Fast
We’ll gather in the Social Hall to break the fast together. Have a favorite kugel to bring, sweet or savory? We’d love to try it!
A few reminders:
Beth David members do not need tickets for services. Guests should register for tickets.
Preregistration is required for Harmony Camp, childcare, and Break Fast.
Most Yom Kippur services will also be available by livestream. Tot Service is in person only.
We hope you’ll join us for some or all of the day. There are lots of ways to make Yom Kippur meaningful for your family, and we’re excited to have The Harmony School at Beth David be part of that experience for our youngest community members!
