11:15am, with programming starting at 11:30 a.m. As we

celebrate Sukkot, we are officially marking the

completion of our new Outdoor Play & Social Space as

well as our new 146.32 kW solar system. Bagels will be

served after the ribbon cutting.

This is a major milestone moment for Beth David Reform Congregation as the Outdoor Play &

Social Space is newly completed. Designed to serve children, families, and congregants of all

ages, the new outdoor environment reflects Beth David's commitment to being a place to Seek,

Learn, and Do. The outdoor project's initial focus has been enhancing recreation opportunities

for children in the congregation's Religious School.

The Outdoor Play & Social Space will support the mission of Beth David’s Religious School, as

well as The Harmony School at Beth David, a new preschool for children ages 18 months

through 5 years. The Harmony School at Beth David is a joyful, play-based preschool rooted in

Jewish values, artistic expression, outdoor exploration, and a love of learning. Inspired by the

Reggio Emilia approach, the school features mixed-age classrooms, daily outdoor experiences,

and a nurturing environment focused on relationships, curiosity, kindness, and community. The

new outdoor space provides an important extension of the school's commitment to nature-based

and experiential learning.

The solar array, which includes 346 solar panels, was funded by a grant from Adamah Climate

Action Fund and financing through Brightwell, along with congregational philanthropy, and

became operational in August 2026. The system, installed by Exact Solar, is predicted to

produce 175,800 kwh annual production, which is the equivalent energy to power 17 average

homes for a year, or removing emissions from 27 gas powered cars a year, or planting 3,179

trees. This system will keep 124 metric tons of carbon out of the atmosphere per year.
